WELCOME ONE AND ALL.  My name is DAVID RETALLICK born and raised here in MILLBROOK ONTARIO on a mixed farm. I always enjoyed the outdoors and when I married decided to cheapen our food costs by growing a garden. Had a great mentor in my grandmother who showed me how to grow food in clay soil. That was the start of my gardening journey that has taken many directions over the years. I own a garden maintenance company called DAVIDS GARDEN SERVICE that has been my sole income for the last few years. I was in the Sunderland area for 30 years and had around 50 customers who relied on me to take care of all their gardening needs from spring till fall .Mostly residential but some industrial as well. I did everything to keep the Garden BEDS, PLANTS, SHRUBS and TREES in top shape. I also developed my own property to become a TOUR GARDEN with Daylilies, Lilies, Hosta, Iris, and Grasses as the main groupings. I have been hybridizing daylilies for 12years now and have 13 registrations with the AMERICAN HEMEROCALLUS SOCIETY.I have moved nearly all my plants to the beds here over the last two years. It sure wasn’t as much fun as I thought it would be. I will have around 160 named varieties for sale in the next couple of years Now I am able to have all my breeding plants in one area which will be very nice next summer. I have around 300 seedlings with a few being evaluated and two crops of seedlings  yet to bloom. I was able to put last year’s seed crop in the ground just late last fall. I also grow about 60 varieties of TRUE LILIES as the fragrance is definitely intoxicating, can’t be without smell in the garden. It’s like having a kiss without a squeeze .The HOSTA and IRIS beds are in the development stage. Grasses as well are young clumps as the moment. They are going to be my backbone of the beds as they mature over time. I am looking for new clients in the PORT HOPE- PETERBOROUGH area as I would like to introduce new people to my love and passion for GARDENING  Please come to the farm and see what I have and just enjoy the color and view.
